Fight it Out

Fight It Out - Map Overview.jpg

Here is some information (and a few tips and strategies) for the Fight It Out Challenge. As always, different people will have different strategies. So, use this information, try some of these strategies if you want, or develop your own and see what works best. Using your best Survivors will usually give you the best chance at earning more stars, so work with what you have!!

Here’s an overview of some of my general Challenge and Guild Tips that discuss and show some of the strategies mentioned here that can help you get more stars.

Please share any strategies or videos in the comments!! Take note of any weekly Class bonuses that may have helped out! Thanks to everyone from the community and the Eh family for their contributions!

There are plenty of Heroes that could be useful that I don’t mention here. It all depends on your play style and rarity of certain Heroes, but I find Abraham and Sasha to be useful at any level.

Please note that when you start getting to the repeat levels of difficulties, you can get an extra Tank or Armored Walker in the map. NG likes to make things more difficult!

Sweeping the Cellar

Sweeping the Cellar - Overview.PNG

Overview: Kill all the Walkers.

Potential Strategies: With no Spawns, use your best Ranged Survivors and keep your distance if possible. I find this to be the easiest map in this Challenge, until you get a Tank or Armored within striking distance on the first turn! Deal with the nearest cluster of Walkers first, then move on to the Walkers that are far away. Try not alert the Tanks at the back of the map, then attack one (or both) of them with all 3 survivors while retreating and firing as you should have plenty of space to move back while killing them.

  • Potential Heroes:
    • Abraham: More damage and health for your Ranged Survivors is very helpful.
    • Sasha – Turning body shots into Charge Points can be very helpful when the map gets more difficult.

Dead’s End

Dead's End - Overview.PNG

Overview: Kill all the Walkers.

Potential Strategies: With no spawns, use your best Survivors (ranged for me) and try to move to one side of the map (I always go right) so you can’t be swarmed on all sides. I typically use two assaults on this map, and place them in the 2nd and 3rd survivor spots so I can move to right side of the map and deal with normal Walkers more easily. When this map gets very difficult and Wrestler becomes one of the only options, try to shoot the Armored and Normal Walkers instead of the Tanks so you don’t waste shots on a Tank that you probably won’t kill with bullets and will eventually need to kill with Wrestler.

  • Potential Heroes:
    • Abraham: More damage and health for your Ranged Survivors is very helpful.
    • Sasha – Turning body shots into Charge Points can be very helpful when the map gets more difficult.

Back Alley

Overview: Kill all the Freemen and Walkers. There are two initial setups for this map: one with the Freemen in the top left section, and one with the Freemen in the top right section. As the map gets more difficult, the easier setup is when the Freemen are on the right section so you can let the Walkers do some damage to the Freemen. Since you will rarely go into a struggle with a Walker on this map, it’s almost always a guaranteed two or 3 stars!

Potential Strategies: When the Freemen are on the right side of the map, try to get an Assault charged up by killing the Walkers, then kill the two melee Freemen outside the fence before dealing with the Hunter. Shooters with Gold High Powered are effective at shooting the Hunter from a safe distance, and Piercing/Interrupt combination can help prevent the melees from fully charging at you. It’s most likely you will take a shot from the Hunter when you initially try to shoot them if you don’t have Gold High Powered on a Shooter and attack from the maximum distance.

This map is much more difficult when the Freemen are on the left side of the map. Dealing with the Hunter is the priority, but one of the melee will most likely charge  as well. It’s very hard to get out of this setup with 3 stars, but Interrupt (and Piercing on higher levels) can give you chance. Typically, I don’t move on the first turn and hope the Freemen will run out and attack the Walkers, which is the best case scenario. If they do go for the Walkers, try to get their health as close to red as possible, then allow the Walkers to finish them off. Try to get your Assault charged up (and Shooter as well if you use one), then finish off the Freeman that stayed behind.

Alternatively, you could try two Bruisers in the first positions. Put Morgan’s staff on your first Bruiser. This strategy can be a decent buffer strategy when the Freemen start to bruise/injure you with their attacks, but can still be reliably stunned. This strategy doesn’t work so well if the Freemen are on the right side of the map, so you want a Shooter with Gold High Powered or an Assault just in case!

If there is a Warrior on this map, try to separate your Survivors a bit; many times a Warrior will not charge you if it can only attack one Survivor.

  • Potential Heroes:
    • Abraham: More damage and health for your Ranged Survivors is very helpful.
    • Sasha – Turning body shots into Charge Points can be very helpful when the map gets more difficult.
    • Dwight – More damage against the Freemen can be more useful.

Videos:

  • Videos by Terminates (these are a bit older, so hopefully they can be useful.)

Through the Wire

Through the Wire - Overview.PNG

Overview: Kill all the Walkers.

Potential Strategies: I use Ranged Survivors, but melee survivors can also be useful since you can use the fence as a buffer to protect melee while you attack through the fence.

With so many Armored Walkers, Sasha and two Assaults is my favorite team. Sasha will help you get your Assaults charged, then the main issue becomes dealing with the Tanks.

  • Potential Heroes:
    • Abraham: More damage and health for your Ranged Survivors is very helpful.
    • Sasha – Turning body shots into Charge Points can be very helpful when the map gets more difficult.
    • Dwight – More damage against the Special Walkers can be more useful.
    • Jesus – If you use an all melee team, the extra damage and health for your Survivors can be very helpful.

The Archives

The Archives - Overview.PNG

Overview: Kill all the Walkers.

Potential Strategies: I like to use at least one Assault and possibly hunters as well. Bruisers can be helpful on this level up to a point, and using a Warrior with Defensive Stance (and Iron Skin) and Power Strike can be useful to overwatch on the first turn, then use Power Strike to fight your way out. This map is extremely difficult to get 3 stars on as the difficulty increases, so earn as many stars as possible and move on!

Sasha gives you your best chance when this map gets difficult, and I always use her and two Assaults. Since she will probably be weaker than your Assaults (or other classes), don’t move her from her initial position and move your other two Survivors to protect her if possible. After you get an Assault charged, the Tank Walker becomes the biggest threat.

  • Potential Heroes:
    • Abraham: More damage and health for your Ranged Survivors is very helpful.
    • Sasha – Turning body shots into Charge Points can be very helpful when the map gets more difficult.

In the Compound

In the Compound - Overview.PNG

Overview: Kill all the Walkers.

Potential Strategies: Don’t move your Survivors too far to begin with as Walkers can come from the shadows and attack. I typically used Ranged Survivors, but the map has some room to move so melee could be useful as well.

I use two Assaults and either Abraham or Sasha in the Leader position. Wrestler and Stun Resistance on Armor is very helpful on this map, especially when the map gets more difficult because it’s hard to avoid or out-maneuver the Tanks.
