This Week in NML…

First off, here’s the Distance and Challenge info for the week:

  • This week’s Distance Version should be #2. Here’s the Guide.
  • This week’s Challenge Map is Teeming Graveyard. It used to just be called The Graveyard, and it’s been a looooong time since we’ve had it (about a year and a half). I don’t have a completed guide for it yet, but it will be HERE, and I will start filling it in after the challenge starts.
  • Check back for the Weekend Event info on Wednesday at 2:00 PM EST.

  • It’s Morgan/Bruiser Week….
    • Bruisers start Challenge/Scavenge Missions fully Charged!!
    • Morgan Tokens will be more available throughout the game.

We are in the midst of the Community Event pitting Jesus vs. Tara vs. Rufus…whichever gets the most kills will determine the weapon we receive. From forum user JayZ, these were weapon pics grabbed from the Talking Dead show…it’s not a fact these will be the traits on the weapon (epic at least, possibly legendary), but it’s a good guess…

If you haven’t yet seen, there is a Community Event/Competition going on: whichever Hero (between Tara/Rufus/Jesus) gets the most kills from players will determine what Epic Weapon we will get. The weapon will be in the class of the winning Hero. Many people will be using Rufus to get a Flamethrower, but I’m personally hoping Tara wins as I want a potentially nice Shooter Pistol!!! Updates on the competition should be posted starting Thursday.

  • This week’s challenge guides can be found HERE (new version) & HERE (old version).
  • This week’s Distance Version is #1, and the guide can be found HERE.
  • In addition, there will be some different things going on for the Weekend Event, some of which is still a mystery to us who get to relay the information:
    • The Community Event will be improved! (revealed THURS or FRI)
    • There will be a gift in the Bundle Shop! (revealed THURS or FRI)
    • More gas will be available for purchase in the TG store (starting on the 29th, 12:00 UTC)
    • The “Playtime with Jesus” Hero call will be available the 30th/31st/1st, and a different Hero call will be available the 1st/2nd/3rd.

Let’s take a look at what’s going on this week in NML…

  • It’s Rosita Week: look for more of her tokens to be found throughout the game. We do get an amazing bonus this week: Assaults start each mission FULLY CHARGED (but not in the Distance…all the details are below)
  • This week is Distance Version #3: you can find the guide HERE
  • This week’s scheduled challenge is Fight it Out. That is the old guide…a new one will be available Wednesday or Thursday and will be linked at the top of the old guide.
  • UPDATE: The weekend event is FREE BADGE REMOVAL and there will also be an Epic Molotov (Rufus’ Weapon) in the TG Store. Badge Removal Event.jpg

This Week in NML…

  • Rick is the featured Hero of the Week. It looks like we will be getting Heroes of the Week over the Class Week Bonus’ for the near future. Rick Tokens will be featured throughout the game (Daily Mission Rewards, every TG store restock, along with a special Rick radio call).
    • My personal opinion about Rick (in the game) is that he’s my least favorite Hero Shooter, and one of the Heroes I never use in tough missions. This is a combination of me having much better Survivors than him ( I’ve been playing for over 2 years) and his Leader Trait doesn’t offer anything to me. Having Retaliate as a Trait is very cool on Rick, so hopefully we will see Rick become awesome in the game in the future!!!
  • This weeks Distance Version is #2:
    • The old guide can be seen HERE.
    • The new guide is almost complete and can be found HERE.
      • I will be adding some more potential strategies on the new guide through the night (and probably Saturday as well), and I will be adding new videos for the later missions. Good luck!!!
  • This week’s scheduled challenge is Ka-Boom. This can change at any time, but if you’d like to check out the old guide, HERE it is…I will build the new one on Wednesday, and post the link here then.
  • If there’s a Weekend Event, I will try to post it around 12:00 EST on Wednesday.
  • Oh yeah, there’s a lot of building to upgrade, and RARE GEAR IS OUT OF GOLD CRATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks NG!!!  So bust out Glenn if you’re a maxed player, and go get those Supplies!

Balance Changes & New Challenge

  • It looks like there isn’t going to be a weekend event (or at least we weren’t notified of one from NG).
  • The new challenge information should be up in a couple of hours (can be found HERE..
  • And we are getting some changes to the game next week (some are already active)…here’s what to expect (copied from NG’s statement on the forums):

“This is an exciting time to be a No Man’s land player! Hot on the heels of the 2.10 update, we are bringing a variety of changes to the game in the first Balance Adjustments of the year. These changes all go into effect on March 6th, 2018.

Maximum Council Level Increased
Players are finding themselves with very full Farms, and there’s always one sure way to put these Supplies to good use. With five months passed since the last Council Level increase, many players are anticipating an opportunity to push their survivors to greater heights.

– Council
Players will be able to upgrade their Council building to Level 23.

– Training Grounds
After upgrading the Council, players can then upgrade the Training Grounds to level 23, which will allow for training Survivors and Heroes to Level 24.

– Scavenger
An upgrade to the Scavenger Building, which requires Council 23, will increase the chances of finding higher rarity Components in Mission Crates. Players with the upgraded Scavenger will also no longer find Common Components in the Components Shop.

– Workshop
The Workshop can be upgraded after the Council, and will then allow for the upgrading of Weapons and Armor of base level 24 to a maximum Level of 27.
– To help players get started in their collection of new gear, players at Council level 22 have a chance to find Level 24 Weapons and Armor in Challenge Crates and in Trade Goods Shop – Gear Crates. This Equipment is also available from the Bundle Shop.
– This level 24 Equipment will start appearing in the game immediately! [Please be sure to close and reload the game to ensure you have the latest game data.]
– In conjunction with the ongoing Carol’s Week upgrade event, all Council 22 players who earn a free Kingdom Spear through this event will receive that spear at level 24.

New Challenge Format

In the past months, several “Ultimate Challenge” events were held, which altered the starting difficulty and rate of advancing through the Challenge. The feedback to these has been so positive that the most common player request on the matter is asking for this new format to be made permanent. We’re happy to announce that this is precisely the case!

Starting with the Challenge on the 7th of March, the format of the challenge will follow these rules:

– Starting Difficulty is based on the level of your three highest Survivors, but a little higher than previously.
– Players with three survivors at Level 10 will start at Difficulty 8
– Players with three survivors at Level 15 will start at Difficulty 11
– Players with three survivors at Level 20 will start at Difficulty 16
– Players with three survivors of Level 23 or higher will start at Difficulty 17
– Difficulty will raise after each Round for each of the first 1-5 Rounds, at which time the Difficulty will then increase once every two Rounds.
– Difficulties of 27 onwards last three Rounds each.
– Round Passes are awarded for every fifth Round advance.
– Players will be able to complete Rounds at whatever pace they like, and will not be delayed by a timer after completing several rounds in a short time.
– Rewards for personal and Guild star totals have been adjusted to help players earn rewards at a good pace even as Difficulty increases.
– Since fewer Rounds are needed to complete each Difficulty, it is expected that week-to-week star counts will be affected. However, now every additional mission represents a larger portion of your total score, so players who attempt the hardest missions will really stand out on the leaderboards.

High Level Weapons and Armor from Rewards Crates

Players that have been playing No Man’s Land for 20 levels or more are able to build up a great collection of equipment for their Survivors. As the game progresses, the relative value of Rare Weapons and Equipment decreases, since players unlock more ways to earn and obtain Epic and Legendary gear. For this reason, we are adjusting the contents of Gold Crates for high level players and high-difficulty missions.

– Gold Mission Crates after missions of Difficulty 20 or greater will have a smaller chance to contain Weapons or armor, and all Equipment found in these crates will be Epic or Legendary.
– Weapons and Armor found in Deluxe Challenge Crates and Gold Rewards Crates purchased from the Trade Goods shop will be either Epic or Legendary for players of Council level 20 or greater.

In general, players will find Epic and Legendary gear about as often as they did before, and the Rare Weapon and Armor rewards will be changed to XP in most cases, or Supplies for Supplies Scavenge missions.” — KAZ from NG

So, what’s going on this week in NML? A few things….

  • There is a special event based around Carol; if you promote Carol during the event, you will earn a FREE KINGDOM SPEAR (weapon level arrives at the same level as your highest SCOUT) !!! Check the images below for all the details.
  • We should see the debut of “In the Dead of Night” challenge. All the info will be posted HERE as soon as possible (hopefully by Wednesday night or early Thursday).
  • The Distance Version that we will see should be #1. You can see the brand new Distance Guides HERE (new guide) or if you prefer the old guides, you can still see it HERE.
  • For the first time in recent memory, there isn’t currently a Class Bonus for the week; looks like all we get is a Carol Boost.
  • I will let you know the Weekend Event on Wednesday around noon EST!!!
  • Have a great week, and good luck with promoting Carol; I hope you don’t need too many Tokens and you get them with ease!!

Update 2.10 Coming Soon and other site info..

Update 2.10 will be dropping shortly. Here’s what to expect:

  • Season 8b missions – new missions with Rick Tokens as the featured Hero reward each week.
  • New Challenge Mission – ” In the Dead of Night” will make its debut on Feb. 21st!
  • New Weapons – available in the store and through an in-game event
  • Bug fixes:
    • Fire animation should no longer slow down gameplay
    • Smoother framerate for older devices
    • Raiders/Freemen won’t run as far

and most importantly (for me)…

DROP RATES WILL BE REVEALED!!!

Radio calls, badge creation, post mission crates, TG and components shop and Guild gifts will all have the odds of getting specific items shown to us! I have argued for more transparency for years, and THANK YOU APPLE FOR MAKING THIS REQUIREMENT.
