The Slaughterhouse

Slaughterhouse - Overview.jpg

Here is some information and a few strategies for The Slaughterhouse Challenge. As always, different people will have different strategies. So, use this information, try some of these strategies if you want, or develop your own and see what works best. Using your best Survivors will usually give you the best chance at earning more stars, so work with what you have!!

Please share any strategies or videos in the comments!! Take note of any videos that use Weekly Survivor Class Events.

As the maps get more difficult, you will start to see an extra Tank or Armored Walker on some maps as NG likes to make things tougher!

Thanks to everyone from the community and the Eh family for their contributions!

The Loading Bay

The Loading Bay.PNG

Overview: This map requires you to kill one Tank Walker and multiple Normal Walkers in the first part of the map (with multiple Normal Walkers spawning every turn) before opening a door and moving into the second portion of the map, where there is another Tank Walker and more Normal Walkers. Once you’ve opened the door, Walkers should stop spawning every turn.

Strategies:

I use Ranged Survivors on this map, and will try to place two of my Survivors in the top right of the first section to protect the door opener while staying in position to block the spawn and utilize Sure Shot on my Survivors. Using an Assault as the door opener is a solid strategy since they have higher health and may be vulnerable when the map gets difficult.

  • Potential Heroes to use:
    • Abraham – More health and damage for ranged survivors is always helpful.
    • Sasha – Turning body shots into charge points can be valuable.
    • Daryl: Since every new player has Daryl, he is always a viable option with his retaliate trait.

Spawn Blocks:

You can block the top Spawn with just the two Survivors on the Top Right while your other Survivor is opening the door. You can also block the bottom Spawn in the second portion of the map.

Fish in a Barrel

Fish in a Barrel.PNG

Overview: This map requires you to kill a lot of Armored Walkers and a few Normal Walkers.

Fish in a Barrel Overview.PNG

Overview: Kill all the Walkers.

Potential Strategies: Just like Archives, I like to use at least one Assault and possibly hunters as well. Bruisers can be helpful on this level up to a point, and using a Warrior with Defensive Stance (and Iron Skin) and Power Strike can be useful to overwatch on the first turn, then use Power Strike to fight your way out. This map is extremely difficult to get 3 stars on as the difficulty increases, so earn as many stars as possible and move on!

Sasha can give you a decent chance when this map gets difficult, and I always use her and two Assaults. Since she will probably be weaker than your Assaults (or other classes), try to protect her as much as possible. Some people like to not use Piercing on their Assaults if using Sasha so they can get more body shots to try to turn into charge points.

Try to kill the normal walkers first if they are close enough to charge up your first assault, then everything else should be pretty straight forward.

  • Potential Heroes:
    • Abraham: More damage and health for your Ranged Survivors is very helpful.
    • Sasha – Turning body shots into Charge Points can be very helpful when the map gets more difficult.

Behind Corners

Behind Corners.PNG

Overview: This map requires you to get 3 crate unlocks while dealing with Normal Walkers that spawn every turn. This is also a good map for farming XP.

Strategies: This map can be pretty tough. You must initially navigate tight spaces, and it’s easy to get trapped at the beginning of the map since Walkers spawn every turn. I typically try to blast my way to the end with my best Assaults/Hunters/Shooters, but would love to hear some more strategies!!

If you can get to the nest where the Walkers continually spawn from, you could use two Scouts with Threat Reduction and Power Strike to eliminate the normal Spawn. By placing your Scouts in the position shown below (Creepy Eugene and Malia), you should be able to attack both spawning Walkers without moving, no matter where they spawn.

  • Potential Heroes to use:
    • Abraham: More health and damage for ranged is always helpful.
    • Sasha: Turning body shots into charge points can be valuable.
    • Daryl: Since every new player has Daryl, he is always a viable option with his retaliate trait.

The Archives

The Archives - Overview.PNG

Overview: Kill all the Walkers.

Potential Strategies: I like to use at least one Assault and possibly hunters as well.

Since she will probably be weaker than your Assaults (or other classes), don’t move her from her initial position and move your other two Survivors to protect her if possible. After you get an Assault charged, the Tank Walker becomes the biggest threat. Some people like to not use Piercing on their Assaults if using Sasha so they can get more body shots to try to turn into charge points.

  • Potential Heroes:
    • Abraham: More damage and health for your Ranged Survivors is very helpful.
    • Sasha – Turning body shots into Charge Points can be very helpful when the map gets more difficult.

The Nest

The Nest.PNG

Overview: This map requires you to unlock 3 crates while dealing with Walkers Spawning after every turn.

Strategies: With so many Walkers in a tight space, I find Assaults (with Wide Spread and Piercing) to be very helpful on this map. Hunters with Sure Shot (and Large Caliber and Piercing) are also very valuable. This is also a great map to farm for XP on the early stages.

  • Potential Heroes to Use:
    • Abraham: Assaults are useful on this map, and adding extra Health and Damage to your other Ranged fighters can be helpful.
    • Sasha: Turning body shots into charge points can be very useful.
    • Daryl: Since every new player has Daryl, he is always a viable option with his retaliate trait.

Spawn Locations: Walkers will spawn all over this map.

Spawn Blocks:

There isn’t really a way to reliably block any of the spawns on this map, but I try to place my Survivors in this position (Creepy Eugene and Malia) to keep as many of the Walkers “below” me as possible.

Placing a Hunter in the upper left space, and an Assault next to them will keep all of the Walkers “below” you so you have a line of sight at almost every walker.

Killing Zone

Killing Zone - OVerview.PNG

Overview: Make your way to the exit while dealing with numerous normal Walkers and one Tank Walkers.

Potential Strategies: On this map you can utilize your best Ranged Survivors, or Melee and Scouts with Threat Reduction. You don’t need to kill all the Walkers, just reach the exit. Overwatch with your Ranged Survivors can help to keep spawns low, but when the levels get difficult, you’ll want to get to the exit as soon as possible.

  • Potential Heroes to Use:
    • Abraham: More damage and health on your ranged survivors is helpful.
    • Sasha: Turning body shots into Charge Points can be useful on difficult levels.
    • Jesus: More damage and health on your melee survivors is helpful.
    • Michonne: If you use the Melee/Threat Reduction Strategy, Michonne can help improve the chances of Threat Reduction and Swift Strike!

Spawn Locations: You can’t reliably block any of the spawns (other than the bottom right which isn’t actually useful), but if you line up a Hunter on the top and/or bottom of the map, you can easily shoot multiple Walkers. These spawn points aren’t completely fixed, as the Walkers can spawn in various locations at the top or bottom of the map.
